About Thornton Consulting
Thornton Consulting was brought about by the merger in 1996 between roof consultants, Thornton Associates (formed 1986), and Leaktector Ltd, which had been operating, principally in flat roof leak detection since 1987.
Both companies had been formed by managing Director, Steve Thornton, a graduate of the Plastics and Rubber Institute (now part of the Institute of Materials), who had been in the UK roofing industry since 1972.
The Leaktector trademark, which is now synonymous with quality and integrity in leak tracing and testing newly installed waterproofing membranes, remains as one of the services on offer.

To date, we have undertaken over 20,000 leak tracing tests in the 21 years we have been operating, so our experience in this area is second to none.
